Why is dog grooming an essential service?

Grooming is essential for many breeds of dogs, if your poodle goes 6 months without a professional groom they likely will become very matted.
Matting and pelting prevents proper temperature regulation, causes skin irritation, hides parasites like fleas or other nasties, and causes extreme discomfort and pain for the dog. Matting can even cut off circulation to certain limbs if it is tight enough!

Owners can brush their dogs at home to prevent matting but often owners only brush the top coat and matting is still underneath. That's when professional grooming comes in, at a grooming salon we have a wide variety of tools and experience with matting.

Why nail trims are also essential!

Long nails can turn a sound paw into a splayed foot and reduce traction, and they can cause deformed feet and injure the tendons over an extended period. As the long nail hits the ground, the pressure puts force on the foot and leg structure.
